Our Ministries
In the great commission, Jesus has given us the command to make disciples of “all nations”. This involved going as a church both across the street (Community Outreach) and across the world (Missions) in order to reach all who would desire to know the Lord.
God envisions a community of believers, both in this age and in the age to come. The picture found in Revelation of the end-time community is a vision of people “from every tribe, people, and language”; worshiping the Lord God and the Lamb (Revelation ;7:9). By reaching out to all nations, the church participates in God’s great vision for his people.
Best Friends in Faith
The Liberty Church of Christ is excited about our new Bible class called Best Friends in Faith. This class is designed for teenagers and young adults with special needs and meets every Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for Bible study and at 10 a.m. for worship. Each week, students are taught a Bible lesson that includes hands-on, engaging activities, songs, and a craft related to the week’s lesson. Christians at the Liberty Church of Christ are blessed to be able…
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Men young and old are invited to a monthly prayer breakfast in the Family Life Center. Come enjoy good food, fellowship with brothers in Christ, and an opportunity to approach God in prayer on the third Saturday of each month.
Adult Education
Adult Education We currently offer two Sunday morning adult Bible classes. Auditorium One of our elders, Robert Ward, teaches the Sunday morning class in the auditorium. Robert does not stifle discussion, but the class is more about listening and more for folks who like to settle into pews. Robert is working through the New Testament epistles. Fellowship Room Our other class meets in the fellowship room. Our preacher, Bryant Perkins, is conducting a survey of the entire Bible through the…
Ladies Ministry
The Ladies Ministry at Liberty Church of Christ is a learning and growing ministry designed to give women opportunities to enrich our spiritual relationships with God and with each other by studying God’s word. We are committed to providing opportunities that will strengthen our knowledge of God which is the most powerful weapon in the world today. Study of the Word of God together, the opportunity for fellowship, and a time of sharing with prayer describes the Ladies Bible Class.…
Youth Ministry
Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. – 1 Timothy 4:12 The Liberty Church of Christ youth group is focused on continually learning more about what God expects from us as Christians, applying it to our lives, and being bright shining lights for Him in our schools and the rest of the world. It is important to understand that, as Paul told Timothy,…
Food Bank
The Liberty Church of Christ hosts a truck from the Houston Food Bank semimonthly, usually on the first Tuesday and the third Thursday of the month. The work is staffed by volunteers from the church who oversee the distribution of fresh produce and canned goods to thousands of people throughout Liberty County every year. For more information either on how to benefit from this program or to become a volunteer, please contact the church office.
Benevolence
Our benevolence program is set up to assist those in our community who are struggling to make ends meet. We have a group of individuals who assist this program and outreach. Contact the church office for further information.
Children’s Homes
The congregation here in Liberty is very blessed to be able to support various children’s homes throughout the area. We are able to support them through financial contributions and by various food, clothing and toy drives throughout the year.
World Bible School
Members of the congregation are also involved in the World Bible School which introduces the Bible to people not only in areas of the United States but to people in foreign lands. This is performed through printed lessons and personal letters that are mailed. This is an excellent opportunity for those who cannot travel to other countries to help spread the Word.
Primetimers
Our more mature members – age 55 and up – meet together on the second Tuesday evening of each month and eat a meal together at an area restaurant. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good food together with the company of brothers and sisters in Christ.
